Hunting in Abruzzo: the commissioner Febbo says enough to speculation and controversy regarding the question of the modified regional hunting calendar, "Bambi let's leave him to the tales".
The Regional Councilor for Hunting of the Abruzzo Region, Mauro Febbo, wanted to dampen the discussions generated around the question of the new Hunting Calendar for the 2012-2013 season by the usual environmentalists and some politicians. The note from Febbo reads, "In recent days there has been a smear campaign against myself and the President of the Region Gianni Chiodi mystifying reality and, even more serious, exploiting" characters "like Bambi, who in the collective imagination refer exclusively to the world of fairy tales very dear to children.
Following the approval of the new hunting calendar, a minority of environmentalists and animal rights activists have persistently tried to overthrow and discredit the work and content of the Calendar created by the technicians of the regional offices following the guidelines of national and European regulations as well as the scientific data provided by ISPRA. Work also carried out after two service conferences in the presence of the Hunting and Environmental Associations, agricultural organizations and the health world to accommodate part of the requests and changes made. The work carried out by the undersigned together with the Hunting Management serves to give certain answers for a correct management of the ungulate populations (Deer, Roe Deer and Wild Boar), so that the Provinces can possibly prepare their own regulations.
Let it be clear that neither the councilor for hunting nor the president of the Region nor the council nor the entire Regional Council intend to practice more or less indiscriminate killing on ungulates, although less on deer and roes, currently not huntable in Abruzzo, but the task of the Region is to implement a correct management of wild populations for the purpose of a balanced relationship between them and the agrosilvopastoral realities as well as with other wild species.
Today there is an urgent need for a census and an appropriate study of the populations of these animals which are known to cause incalculable damage to crops, woods, farmers and, in some cases, as reported by forestry and health authorities, are also carriers of diseases that must be identified and attacked.
Abruzzo has not entered any withdrawal and / or abatement of Deer and Caprioli in their hunting calendar as they have sought and are trying to pass.
While I understand and denounce how in other Regions governed by a certain political party (Rifondazione Comunista plus environmentalists) such as Tuscany, Marche, Emilia Romagna, Umbria and Puglia where, unlike Abruzzo, they have included and regulated the collection of deer and Roe deer. How come the animal rights activists, the WWF and the Acerbo and Caporale councilors do not cry out to the scandal against these regions where they govern? Why do they not recall and protest against the policies of President Vendola and President Errani? They "shoot Bambi!"
So it is quite evident that we have only tried to exploit an argument to misrepresent reality and mount an enormous falsehood to the point of disturbing the world of fairy tales. On the other hand, as proof of the good work done, even the opposition council groups in the Region (Pd, Idv and Udc) have not ridden the political exploitation of a political party (animal rights and environmentalists) still perched on rearguard and anachronistic positions. I sincerely hope that when just declared it will definitively clarify by restoring the truth of the facts and documents in hand, it demonstrates the will of the work done by the Abruzzo Region.
Finally, I hope that the survey advanced by a prestigious and authoritative regional newspaper will be withdrawn, which, nor am I convinced, has been informed in an erroneous and undocumented manner. Therefore, I invite everyone to restore the reality of the facts and to a serene confrontation and stop using certain news while at the same time avoiding feeding a sad sensationalism ”.
