Ungulate hunting in Abruzzo. The Third Agriculture Commission of the Abruzzo region has given the green light to the new regulation on the hunting of ungulates. The ok to the provision came during the last session, to make it known is the regional councilor Lorenzo Berardinetti.
“The text - explains Berardinetti - is the result of a long work of sharing and analysis that has led to reaching a point of equilibrium capable of satisfying the needs and sensitivities of each person involved”. The effectiveness of the provision is guaranteed by the fact that specific rules are introduced for the control, management and containment of wild boars. "The proposals and indications received from agricultural, hunting, environmentalist associations and from the Territorial Areas of Hunting.
The new law aims to favor a more organic and correct wildlife-hunting management of ungulates, aimed at reducing the economic damage caused to the agricultural sector, guaranteeing the safety and security of citizens, reducing the risk of accidents. road. The amendments have adapted the regulation to the new division of competences, between the Region and the ATC, in the light of the transfer of proxies in the field of hunting from the Provinces to the Region.
A particularly significant aspect is represented by the fact that the competences among the subjects involved have been clearly identified. The Region is responsible for all programming, planning and coordination activities, for the hunting areas the tasks of direct management on the territories, the obligations relating to the annual settlement plans as well as those functions expressly delegated by the region itself.
The key role of species control and safety, as required by current legislation, is the responsibility of the provincial police. The new text also effectively addresses the particular emergency situation that has arisen with the expansion of wild boar populations in the regional territory.
The wild boar species has expanded its range by occupying, in recent years, also ecologically "unsuitable" areas, that is the widely cultivated hills and plains, the man-made areas and the road network, increasing the phenomenon of damage to agriculture, aggressions to the population and road accidents. For these specific reasons, the objective of the eradication of wild boar from these territories was introduced, which have a very high impact on human activities.
"I want to thank - concluded Berardinetti - Councilor Dino Pepe, the Parent Company of the Pd Sandro Mariani, the Directors Balducci, Paolini, Oliveri, Di Nicola and colleagues Mauro Febbo and Lorenzo Sospiri for the constructive spirit and for the precious contribution provided in the drafting of this text which represents the best synthesis of the various and multiple needs related to the management of wildlife ".
