Incident of hunting. An afternoon of leisure has turned into a tragic event for a group of friends engaged in a joke of wild boar hunting in Cosenza.
The hunting activity of the wild boar is very widespread in these territories and is practiced as a simple hobby but also to stem the proliferation of this animal, now out of control.
The tragedy. On the afternoon of November 19, 2015, a 68-year-old man was the victim of a gunshot from another hunter's rifle. The group of friends was in an area on the border between the municipality of Lago and that of Aiello Calabro, one of the many areas where you can meet numerous herds of wild boars.
During the hunt, one of the participants, misled by a movement seen in the vegetation, fired shots thinking he was aiming at a wild boar, but killing his colleague. The victim, according to the first reconstructions, tried to avoid the blow in vain. Help was promptly called but the intervention of the health workers was useless and on their arrival they could not do anything other than ascertain the death of the man.
What remains of this hunting afternoon is so much dismay and pain on the part of relatives, friends and all citizens who cry for this absurd and avoidable death.
