A 63-year-old hunter died in a hunting accident that occurred during the pre-opening in a clearing in the Massa Martana area, in the province of Perugia. According to what was leaked and emerged from the Carabinieri's findings, the man was accidentally drawn from a shot from his 12-gauge semi-automatic hunting rifle.
The man was alone at the time of the accident. Investigators believe that the fatal shot started accidentally when the hunter bent down to pass between the rows of an abandoned vineyard in an attempt to retrieve a freshly felled game.
To give the alarm the family members who, not seeing him return for lunch, contacted two friends of the victim, who went to where the man used to hunt, and found him lifeless by now contacting the Carabinieri.
