Hunting accident: in the countryside of the province of Lodi, in the locality of Sant'Angelo Lodigiano, a hunter died from a shot accidentally fired by a friend.
A tragic hunting accident occurred this morning in the countryside of Sant'Angelo Lodigiano, in the province of Lodi, where a hunter lost his life due to a head wound caused by an accidental shot fired by his hunting companion. It was about 8.25 am, when the two hunters were making, as so many other times, a hunt in the Lodi countryside; one of the two hunters fired a shot with his own rifle but accidentally hit his 31-year-old companion in the head who died instantly from too serious injuries.
In fact, the 118 emergency services with autolettiga and self-medications immediately arrived on the spot were useless; unfortunately the doctor could not help but ascertain the death of the young hunter from injuries incompatible with life. The Carabinieri of Lodi also intervened on the spot and started the investigation activity, gathering all the useful elements to accurately establish the dynamics of the serious accident; in the meantime, as usual, the hunter who shot will be investigated to answer for the charge of manslaughter.
Just in recent days some deputies had presented a parliamentary interpellation to ask for more restrictions on hunting as well as greater controls and more assiduous checks for the release of the Port of Arms, in order to reduce hunting accidents; the interpellation had response from the Government with the announcement of an upcoming decree that would introduce some innovations.
This morning's drama adds to the already long and sad list of victims of the current Hunting Season; in the even sadder reality in which hunting coexists in Italy, this tragedy becomes yet another pretext for the anti-huntsmen to attack the hunting activity and all those who practice it by doing the easiest and most despicable demagogy. Deaf to all the anti-hunting obviousness that we will hear in the next few days starting from tomorrow, the eve of Christmas, we huddle close to the family of the hunter who lost his life this morning.
