Hunting Accidents: in Sardinia a hunter was injured by a shot fired during a hunting trip while another unfortunately died after falling into a river.
The sad trail of hunting accidents that characterized the Hunting Season still in progress continues; yesterday there were two accidents involving two hunters, one dead and another wounded during two different hunting trips in Sardinia.
In Aritzo, in the province of Nuoro, a 27-year-old hunter was accidentally wounded in the leg by a rebound shot from a hunting companion's rifle during a hunt in the countryside of the town. Transported to the Nuoro hospital he was hospitalized but would not be in serious condition.
In Alghero, on the other hand, a 53-year-old man was overwhelmed by the rush of a river while he was engaged in a hunting trip: according to an initial reconstruction the hunter would have slipped into the water without being able to escape to safety. The rescue attempts of the Carabinieri, Forest Guards, 118 personnel and the Fire Brigade who rushed to the scene were useless and they could only find the lifeless body hundreds of meters ahead of the accident site.
