VENATOR ACCIDENTS - CNCN: NO VICTIMS AMONG THE NON-HUNTERS AND A TOTAL 'PURIFIED' DATA REDUCED BY ALMOST 40%
The great attention to the problem of safety in the hunting world is leading to a number fewer and fewer accidents, as evidenced by the data from the analysis of the National Hunting and Nature Committee which for the year 2009 show that there were no victims among non-hunters and that, even for the latter, the real numbers - purified by an ideologically anti-hunting methodology - they are reduced by almost 40%.
When it comes to human lives, the data should be examined and disseminated with the utmost caution, precision and delicacy, and instead every year the hunting world finds itself under accusation for a number of victims that is often inflated by events that have little with hunting. or nothing to do.
The analysis of the CNCN for the year 2009 (1 January - 31 December) says that the hunt caused 22 deaths, while the estimates of the anti-hunting organizations (taken as a basis for deepening the individual episodes) speak of 38 victims! Analyzing the news reporting accidents, the CNCN highlighted the following cases in which we erroneously speak of 'hunting victims' when the causes are not attributable to the latter or - even - the victims are not there. I'm.
2009 deaths entered by mistake in hunting estimates:
heart attack or other illnesses N ° 11
car accident # 1
fall N ° 1
voluntary homicide N ° 1
one wounded counted among the dead N ° 1 (Cerveteri, 05 January 2009)
a missing person for one night considered dead N ° 1 (Pordenone, 01 October 2009)
A total of 16 deaths that could have occurred during any other recreational activity, but which, included in the number of victims of hunting, create dismay and great alarmism. Some even go so far as to count the voluntary killings and suicides committed with the shotgun, up to talking about more than 40 or 50 victims. The use of wrong data helps to build and validate a negative image of hunting and hunters who are described as very dangerous visitors to woods and countryside.
Among other things, it should be remembered that hunters - unlike almost all those who practice outdoor activities - are covered by law by a civil liability insurance which in the event of an accident guarantees, if nothing else, adequate economic compensation for people, animals and things.
Exaggerating the dangerous aspects of hunting - forgetting for example the frequency and 'numbers' of accidents of other outdoor activities - responds to an ideological will and not to objective reality, with the sole purpose of terrorizing the population and influencing the political world. .
And it does not respect the victims, the deceased and their families.
