Hunting and Territory: Lazio, hearing on wildlife damage with representatives of protected areas; Ciarla, “The conditions exist to do a good job together”.
Hearing, this morning, of the Pisana Agriculture Commission with representatives of Lazio bodies, parks and reserves regarding damage from wildlife, in particular those caused by wild boars. At the center of the debate is the bipartisan bill “Regional interventions for the conservation and management of wildlife and for the planning and regulation of wildlife-hunting activities. Regional Center for Wildlife ”(no. 116). This is the basic text of a legislative procedure which provides for examination combined with two other proposals (n. 49 and n. 141).
"From the speeches heard - concluded the session the president of the Commission, Mario Ciarla (Pd) - the conditions exist to do a good job together". In particular, requests for changes were made regarding the provision of a contribution of 25 euros for each head killed by the hunters who will participate in the selective killing. Other requests for improvement of the text were formulated on compensation for damages, on road accidents, on training courses, on the risk of overlap between competences in the field of the environment and agriculture. And again: on the formation of plans for the conservation and management of wildlife and the particular cases represented - in some areas - by the presence of wolves. Everyone was asked by President Ciarla to send requests for changes or improvements in writing.
Present were the councilors Cristiana Avenali (For Lazio), Silvana Denicolò (M5S), Daniele Sabatini (Ncd) and Oscar Tortosa (Psi). Representatives of the Regional Parks Agency, of the Romanatura regional authority, of the Bracciano Martignano park, of the Lago di Vico reserve, of the Long and Ripasottile lakes, of the Marturanum parks, of the Simbruini Mountains and of the Roman Castles participated in the hearing. Written observations were sent, even though they could not be present at the session, from the reserve of the Navegna and Cervia mountains and from the park of the Lucretili mountains.
