Hunting and Associations: ACV-Confavi and Enalcaccia reply to the newborn Regional Coordination of National Hunting Associations; Veneto hunters are tired of watching antics: the Region is beginning to give concrete answers to hunters.
The Associazione Cacciatori Veneti-CONFAVI and the National Association Enalcaccia Pesca and Shooting (respectively second and third in terms of number of members among the hunting associations at the regional level) comment with amazement on the statement issued by the managers of some hunting associations in the Veneto with which news of the birth of a new representative body with an unpronounceable acronym (CRAVN) which aims (in words) to favor the unity of all hunting associations in the Veneto. We remind the hunting associations belonging to the CRAVN that the associative unit in Veneto already existed. In fact, the Coordination of the Veneto Hunting Associations had managed to unite all the hunting associations representing all the hunters of the Veneto. It was the managers of some of these associations (in particular the managers of Federcaccia and Arci Caccia) who wanted to bury this unitary body of representation, since they had not managed to impose on the other associations their unsatisfactory positions in the field of hunting. . Not only that, while some associations, such as ACV-CONFAVI and Enlcaccia PT have always taken a critical attitude towards the current regional administrators, guilty of not knowing (or unwilling to) solve the problems of hunters, such as the failure to implement the hunts in derogation or the still unresolved problem of stalking for hunting use), the managers of some other associations have been convinced (probably in a not always noble way) to take supporting attitudes towards the current regional administrators.
In fact, it is known that the current regional hunting department has been availing itself for almost four years of the advice of some hunting managers for the preparation of the measures that have regulated (and unfortunately continue to regulate) poop in Veneto. The results of these consultations have had a very negative impact on the heads (and pockets) of the Veneto hunters.
The latest demonstration can be found with the insane proposal for a new Regional Hunting Wildlife Plan for the period 2014/2019 that the Regional Council has recently presented in all the provinces of Veneto, a proposal that if approved by the Regional Council and transformed into law, would entail the immediate halving of the few hunters left to practice hunting in Veneto.
Increase in the membership fee payable by hunters up to six times the current one to pay for damage caused by wildlife, drastic reduction of the huntable territory, increase in hunting density indexes, hunters deprived of the right to participate in the ATC members' meeting , application of new and further limitations to the hunting activity, are just some examples of what has been elaborated by the regional council on the advice of these acrobatic hunting leaders. We understand that the term "decency" or "sense of modesty" is totally unknown to some hunting managers, but this will not prevent other hunting leaders from freely continuing to defend the rights of all hunters with their heads held high.
