147 thousand and 441 euros. This is what has been donated so far to the Pediatric Oncohematology Center of Padua by the Venetian Association of Confavi hunters. "Number - explains Sergio Berlato, Member of the European Parliament for Ppe / Fi - which is collected in the last twelve years during a charity race for dogs that has become an annual fixed event in Molvena (VI), organized by the local section of the Association of Venetian Hunters - Confavi ”. The tender, which took place on March 30th, saw the collection, for 2014, of almost 14 thousand euros. "A commitment of the hunting world - specifies Berlato - that involves hunters and bearers of rural culture, further demonstration of how the stereotype proposed by some fundamentalist animal rights activists, of the hunter seen only as the one who kills animals, is far from reality".
"This - specifies the MEP - is a world that, in addition to providing its own contribution to public utility works, has also shown on this occasion as in many others, to be close to those who are less fortunate".
"Let us not forget - concludes Berlato - that one of the priorities of hunters is that of maintaining the territory together with farmers and fishermen and in general with all those who are bearers of rural culture".
