The Gruppo Cinofilo Fiorentino in collaboration with Urca, provincial section of Florence, organize for the last weekend of July a two-day didactic day for breeders and dog handlers.
The Cinofilo Fiorentino Group in collaboration with Urca, provincial section of Florence, organize an educational weekend for breeders and handlers of working and sport dogs on 28 and 29 July 2012 in Greve in Chianti, in the province of Florence.
The educational event will take place at Villa San Michele, a structure located in the San Michele Natural Park in the Municipality of Greve in Chianti (FI), about 800 meters high. Dogs will be welcome inside the entire structure and will be able to enjoy a cool climate and immense green spaces.
Description of the planned training activities:
There are 4 meetings with the possibility of participating in each module separately or jointly. A certificate of participation will be issued for each module. The courses are aimed at dog owners and handlers, breeders, veterinarians, instructors, dog trainers and simple enthusiasts.
Module 1 - Saturday 28 July 2012:
09.00 - 13.00 Hours: The management of the litter.
Topics covered: Pregnancy, childbirth, growth of the litter. Feeding the mare, weaning and feeding the puppies. The feeding of the dog at rest and under stress.
Speaker: Cesare Gilardi, food technician and athletic trainer.
Module 2- Saturday 28 July 2012:
14,30pm-19,30pm: Physical preparation of the working dog.
Topics covered: Insights into the physical preparation of the working dog.
Speaker: Cesare Gilardi, food technician and athletic trainer.
Module 3 - Sunday 29 July 2012:
09.00 - 13.00 Hours: The recovery of injured ungulates with the aid of the track dog.
Topics covered: Recognition of injury signs and research strategies; presentation and distribution of the “Guide to the reactions to the blow and indications on the correct behavior in case of injury”.
Speakers: Track dog handlers from the Province of Florence.
Module 4 - Sunday 29 July 2012:
14,30pm-19,30pm: First aid course for dogs.
Topics covered: Heat stroke; fractures and injuries; stomach twisting; ingestion of poisoned morsels; shock and stings of vipers and insects; illustration of cardio pulmonary resuscitation maneuvers with the use of the manikin.
Speakers: Dobre Dog professionals.
19.30 closing aperitif of courses offered by Gruppo Cinofilo Fiorentino.

• For participation in a single training module: € 30,00 for Urca members and members of the Cinofilo Fiorentino Group, € 40,00 for non-members.
• For participation in two modules: € 50,00 for Urca members and members of the Cinofilo Fiorentino Group, € 70,00 for non-members.

How to get:
A1 motorway, Incisa / Reggello exit. As soon as you leave the motorway, turn left towards Figline Valdarno. Once in Figline Valdarno, at the Shell petrol station and the Torricelli Hotel on the right, leave the main road and follow the signs for Greve in Chianti on the right. After about 200 meters, at the stop sign, turn right, always following the signs for Greve in Chianti. Continue for about 7 km passing the village of Ponte agli Stolli and then take the crossroads on the left for Lucolena, Parco di San Michele. Continue for about 5 km passing the town of Lucolena and Dimezzano up to the signs on the right for Villa San Michele.
