Hunting and Dogs. The Hunting Season has recently ended but the passion remains fervent and what better time than spring to relive hunting emotions training and training their dogs; the good opportunity comes with the official simulation races.
One of these has as its theater the countryside of Oristano where in the next weekend, from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 March, the eighteenth edition of the Sardinian Championship reserved for followed dogs to wild boar organized by the Samugheo branch of Pro Segugio Oristano in collaboration with the Province, the Forestry Authority as well as the self-managed of the participating centers.
The Province, the Sardinia Forestry Authority and the self-managed Municipalities of Samugheo, Paulilatino, Ruinas, Laconi, Villanova Truschedu, Scano Montiferro, Villaurbana, Fordongianus, Siamanna and Siapiccia collaborate with the local association. The event, now in its eighteenth year of programming, is one of the most popular in Sardinia, where there are thousands of members.
The four-legged competitors will compete in the tests foreseen for the three competition categories: "single", "couple" and "wetsuit". Also this year the dogs regularly registered in the herd books and the non-registered mestizo dogs from all over the region will take part in the competition tests.
The participation is remarkable: some of the past editions have recorded the presence of 2000 enthusiasts and 200 hounds in the countryside of the island. Numerous participants also arriving from other Italian regions.
"It will be a great party for all dog lovers following the wild boar and an opportunity for the whole territory", commented the president of the Pro Segugio Oristano Samughese branch, Antioco Patta, who expects a large participation of passionate.
