Hunting and Fauna: Brescia, the council committee discussed the census of live calls for hunting and the problem of wild boars in the Alto Garda Park.
The meeting of the council commission IV of the broletto held on Tuesday addressed, under the guidance of the councilor for hunting Aurelio Guarnieri, two significant points for the hunting world: the census of live calls and the agreements with the Parks for the management of wild boars. As the provincial councilor explained, in February a note arrived from the region inviting the census of live calls. The matter, the result of a community agreement, provides that within five years, no later than 2017, it will no longer be possible to capture live calls, which will be replaced with breeding specimens. This, as the commissioner pointed out, is not possible for all species, therefore the resolution adopted by the Region is inadmissible.
Guarneri then brought the most evident critical issues to the attention of the commissioners. In essence, more clarity is required. In this regard, the Province of Brescia has not been firm: it has sent a letter to the new regional councilor and is awaiting a reply. As for the management of wild boars in the Brescia area, the sore point remains the Alto Garda park, where they are everywhere, at high altitude as well as at the bottom of the valley: more than 400 those registered in the last season, 360 those killed, but no one knows their exact number. Currently the province has been counted in total 937 specimens and killed 755. A presence to say the least uncomfortable for those who have gardens and fields and are forced to enclose them. Often it is not enough because the networks are broken.
As specified by Guarneri, the problem of the Alto Garda is linked to a very complex territorial situation, because here various institutes insist that prevent the coordination of the different rules. The agreements with the other realities of the park were very simple and, therefore, the commissioner does not doubt that in a few days this matter will also be closed.
