Due to adverse weather conditions, roe deer hunting was closed early in the Rimini area.
In the session of yesterday 15 February 2012, the provincial council of Rimini decided to bring forward to today 16 February the closing of the selection hunt for roe deer which according to the Hunting Calendar had previously been scheduled for 10 March 2012.
The junta's decision was agreed with the ATCs due to adverse weather conditions which in recent weeks, especially in Emilia Romagna, have brought a wave of freezing cold and snowfall that have been quite exceptional.
Many areas of Emilia Romagna are actually still covered with snow and every municipality is working with special snowplows and snowploughs such as bulldozers and bobcats in order to free the roads from the piles of snow that make circulation difficult or even impossible.
In recent days, the provinces of Bologna, Reggio Emilia and the more distant Genoa already had deer selection hunting suspended in order to protect the various species already in serious difficulty due to bad weather that has affected the whole country.
