An important turning point regarding the compensation for damage caused to agriculture by wildlife, from today to establish the amount of compensation will be the Province and no longer the insurance companies. This is the content of the memorandum of understanding signed this morning at the headquarters of the Province of Savona, between the Provincial Administration, the agricultural professional organizations and the Territorial Areas of Hunting for the "Agreed definition of actions relating to the prevention and compensation of damage produced from wildlife and hunting activities to the provincial agricultural and livestock sector ".
The President of the Province, Angelo Vaccarezza, declared "The document signed this morning is a concrete response to the needs of the agricultural world and I am happy to fully agree with the hunting associations and hunting territories".
Continuing Vaccarezza explained, "The important novelty of this agreement is that it will no longer be external insurance to evaluate the reimbursement of damages, as happened in previous years, but all the practices will be managed entirely by the Service Center of the Territorial Areas of Hunting and by the Damage Committee of the Province. This new regulation will therefore lead to greater guarantees for farmers since they will have practically immediate answers from the Service Center and the Non-Life Committee and the certainty that all the funds available will be used for compensation and prevention actions. The protocol can certainly be improved, it will be monitored in these months and I am sure that with the collaboration of all we will have excellent results ”.
The representatives of the agricultural associations Cia, Coldiretti and Confagricoltura were also satisfied with the agreement reached. They declared, “These have been months of great work and the synergy with the Province and the hunting associations has led to a satisfactory result. We are convinced that the new procedures will lead to savings and better and faster operation. In particular, the damage assessments, in the event of an imminent collection, will take place within seven days of the report. A very quick response from the Province, which welcomed our observations and, thanks to the collaboration of all, came to a shared plan of action ”.
The same satisfaction expressed by the exponents of the major Hunting Associations, the Italian Federation of Hunting, Enalcaccia, Libera Caccia, Arcicaccia, Italcaccia and Anuu Migratoristi, who reiterated, "The hunting world has worked a lot on this agreement, only synergistic actions can lead to concrete results. We thank the Province for the attention shown and we trust in a path that always goes in a common direction, hoping that the problems related to agricultural-hunting matters are always discussed together in the interest of all ".
