Hunting and Territory: Macerata, great success for the “Restoration of wetlands” project of the ATC MC 2; many species of birds observed.
The “Restoration of Wetlands” project carried out by ATC MC 2 in collaboration with the owners of the fixed positions for water sports was truly a success. Many birds have stopped in the months of March, April and May in the "pantiere", artificial lakes managed by aquatic hunters, in the Province of Macerata. Thanks to the contribution of the ATC MC 2 and to their sensitivity, a water level of a few centimeters was maintained throughout this period, allowing the aquatic fauna to stop and feed, before resuming the migration journey to the countries of Northern Europe where will nest.
There have been many nature photo enthusiasts or ornithologists who have been able to photograph and observe many water birds in these marshy environments, unique for the Province of Macerata. Many common species such as: Piro Piro, Corrieri, Pittime, Beccaccini, Marzaiole, Combattenti, many Knights of Italy (in the photo), and lately also rare, such as the three Black Storks observed in Montelupone on Sunday 12 May at the Carpineti pantheon by the manager of the Hunting Vigilance of the ATC MC 2 Nazzareno Galassi during a normal check to check the water level and to monitor the aquatic fauna present.
For years the lack of suitable environments has not allowed the stop of the aquatic fauna in our territories; now, given the success of the project, the Hunting and Environmental Associations, with the authorization of the owners of the yards, could let schoolchildren visit these splendid places, who may have never seen a Knight of Italy in its natural environment, but only in documentaries , when instead they are staying in the vicinity of the town where they live.
