Hunting and Migration. The date of the anniversary of San Michele, which falls on September 29, was respected with the first peak of Song Thrush it showed up in good numbers in the days of late September, even if the rain has not a little bothered, but not prevented, the migratory phenomenon.
At the FEIN Ornithological Observatory in Arosio, together with the turdidae, the first Step Finches appeared accompanied by a good number of Blackcaps, although not as exceptional as last year.
Even the Siskinis bode well for their presence and the first signs observed last week were confirmed with the first ringings. In the norm the Robin and the Blackbirds. Also of note is the presence, somewhat delayed compared to the August / September timetable, of trans-Saharan migrants such as the Prispolone, the Black Balia, the Beccafico and the Cannaiola who pass over our territories to go to winter in the African shores most suitable for south of the Sahara desert.
Also in the Arosian station there is the second historical capture, interesting and unusual, of a foreign Luì, a rare species that has already appeared in some territories in northern Italy. Without prejudice to the slowdown in migration in the last weekend of early October, due to stormy weather conditions, it can be confirmed that the week just passed was still positive and is considered a good omen for the magical period of migration. .
Finally, for now there is no relevant news on the migration of anatidae (except for the usual Germano now present almost everywhere) and of waders such as the Snipe, in any case not yet reported in the territories congenial to them.
