Hunting and Migration. Like every week, ANUU Migrators provides information on migratory step extrapolated from the observations of the FEIN Ornithological Observatory in Arosio and the various collaborators who collaborate with the association.
Also in the week just passed news from Greece confirmed the arrival of the Song Thrush and the Woodcock.
Quail also arrived late according to the schedule, while in northern Italy, after a slowdown in migration due to adverse weather conditions and then returned to normal, on Friday 9 and Saturday 10, there was a good resumption of movement with interesting observations.
In the meantime, however, in the center and in the south, bad weather in addition to causing problems in daily life has blocked migration. In this national context in the pre-alpine territories the song thrush, on favorable days, was observed in good number together with the robin.
Among the very small passerines, the excellent presence of the small Luì and the Regulus is also worthy of note.
During the week, while Passera scopaiola and Siskin are constantly present, albeit in small numbers, the Frosone and, in a more localized way, the Peppola and the first Rock Thrushes made their appearance. Reports confirm the first woodcocks embodied and the Skylark has begun to appear in the plains. Still nothing relevant to the Snipe.
The coming week, according to the weather forecast, will still be very variable but we hope that the first quarter of the moon, Tuesday 20 October, can still give strong emotions on the field in terms of migration.
