Hunting and Migration. In recent days, during a "café-philo" on the sidelines of the large and complex Climate Conference in a surreal Paris, there was talk of migrazione avifauna in the Western Palearctic.
And, of course, about climate and weather, learning from the scientific director of AEWA (The Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds), which has its headquarters in Bonn, that the mythical Fieldfare they were quietly pecking at the red berries in the garden. In short, if there is no need to migrate for food and the severe cold, they don't just move to get to know our territories!
If the severe cold arrives in mid-January, they are quiet thinking that February is upon us and it is no longer time to migrate. So it seems to be happening this year. At the beginning of November the cold was expected, which then disappeared, and therefore nothing concrete is to be reported even in these days so expectations remain in the dreams of all of us that certainly do not vanish at the dawn of every morning spent in vain waiting for them. But for the shed the waiting is always tomorrow.
For reasons of historical memory there is still the presence of some song thrush and the more interesting one compared to last week of the redwing. But we'll talk about it again in next week's release.
