Hunting and Migration. The second ten days of October at the FEIN Bird Observatory in Arosio began with a migratory peak of the Song Thrush which continued its presence until Thursday 15, then diminished in the last weekend.
In fact, unfortunately, this weekend the reports of the species did not give strong emotions as confirmed by the many followers of Diana, in particular in the Comasco and in the Lecco area, who were satisfied with small game boxes.
In this regard, it should be added as an ongoing investigation between the Environmental Protection Coordination Office, Ornithological Research, Ringing of the ANUU Migrators, in collaboration with FEIN and with the French hunters coordinated by Jean-Paul Florentino, reconfirm, as indeed already occurred in the past through the recapture of ringed subjects, that the migratory flow of Thrushes observed in the area of the Arosio Observatory and in the neighboring areas follows a line that extends towards the south of France to end in Spain, with a calculable difference d 'arrival in the areas analyzed for about ten days.
Returning to the vicissitudes of the passage of the week just passed, we note the appearance of the first Tordi sasselli and Peppole which, again at the Arosian station, were ringed between the days of Wednesday 14 and Friday 16.
From the lower Bergamo area we receive news of the observation of the first Cesena, while Sucherini and Frosoni, although not in large numbers, have been noticed in different territories, as well as the Zigoli muciatti in the north. The Fringuello pass is good and in the center-north numerous groups of wood pigeons are reported on the move.
As far as the 'Lark there is good news about its presence in the south, and the same is true for the Pispole recorded in good numbers in many areas of the peninsula. Finally, there is nothing relevant as regards the anatidae in general, if not the constant presence in the large areas congenial to them. Otherwise positive news arrives for the Snipe.
