Hunting and Migration: ANUU reports on the migratory passage in the Italian skies; ringed the first thrush.
On Monday 8 September at 6.00 am the ringing of the first Song Thrush (Turdus philomelos) in post-nuptial migration (September-October-November), a young specimen, with ring Z434954.
In accordance with the Euring directives, the usual biometric measurements were taken to the subject: fat, muscle, weight, chord, third and tarsus. From an analysis of the data on the first ringing, starting from 1975, it can be seen that the most delayed date was 21 September 2006 and the earliest were 3 September 1977 and 2003. The turdid has peeped out in the mist-net networks of the Observatory on a day that turned out to be beautiful from the morning and with hot sun after midday.
