Hunting and Migration. Finally the fog, which for eight days covered the plains and the middle hills of northern Italy, disappeared and on Sunday 22 November a clear sky returned with a beautiful sun.
It should be noted that the migrazione has weakened considerably and a scarce but continuous presence of the Song Thrush was still noticed at the FEIN Ornithological Observatory in Arosio. Little present the Redwing both in Italy and in the south of France and in Greece.
Numerous, but localized the Cesene. Also at the Arosian station there are news of the capture of some Frosone, Peppola and Siskin. Still excellent the presence of the Storno and the Wood pigeon, while Merlo and Fringuello recorded a modest, albeit continuous, presence. But if the temperature remained average during the week, between the night of Saturday 21 and Sunday morning 22 November, due to a stronger wind from the north, it dropped further confirming that winter is upon us.
The most fortunate, between northern and central Italy, had concrete encounters with the Woodcock, while for Beccaccino and anatidae in general there is no relevant observation to report. For those who refer to the phases of the moon, the full moon in the next few days could give hope for the next consistent presence of Cesene and the increase of the Redwing. And so we hope.
