Hunting and Safety: Safety Days is a great success, 30% more participants than the last edition, at the two days on hunting safety.
On over 40 shooting ranges throughout Italy, thousands of hunters were able to verify the correctness of their approach to the way of handling the shotgun and check its efficiency. More than good participation by Italian hunters also this year at the Safety Days, the days for hunting safety organized on 7 and 8 September by the Italian Federation of Hunting, anuumigratoristi, Libera Caccia, Enalcaccia and Arcicaccia together with the CNCN, the anpam and to the ace-arms with the technical collaboration of Fitav, Fidasc and anpp (National Association of private shooting ranges) and the sponsorship of Swarovski Optik Italia.
We saw that the response of the hunters had been prompt and enthusiastic already the day after the event, but to give a precise picture of the success of our initiative we preferred to wait for the turnout data provided by the approximately 40 participating shooting ranges to be definitive. , almost triple compared to last year, to cover the entire national territory. A widespread presence that allowed a considerable increase in participants, about 30% more than the first edition of the Safety Days held at the end of August 2012. The two days were designed by the organizers to invite hunters to review the correct behaviors to be followed in order to achieve maximum safety in handling and using one's shotgun when hunting and in any other circumstance.
For this reason, the collaboration of the technicians and shooting directors of the Coni sports federations was extremely precious, who made themselves available to the participants as well as the gunsmiths, who on the fields were able to verify the perfect efficiency of the weapons used as well as giving advice. to hunters. Safety vademecum created by the National Hunting and Nature Committee (CNCN) together with FACE Italia were also distributed on the fields for a quick review of the general rules for accident prevention.
“The Safety Days, inaugurated last year, continue to grow - commented the organizers - and we are satisfied with this, but it is not enough yet. We want to reach even more hunters to raise their awareness on the issue of safety and the prevention of hunting accidents, starting with checking the functioning of their weapons. Our applause obviously goes to the Federations, Associations and companies that together with us have taken on the organizational and structural commitment, hoping to do even better in 2014. In these days, important concepts are deepened that must be acquired by all enthusiasts, from the youngest and most recently licensed to those who have been hunting for decades. These are moments - the organizers conclude - also excellent for comparing and strengthening those relationships of conviviality in which young people can learn from those who have more experience, helping to grow more and more aware hunters, attentive to their own safety and that of others, respectful of the environment and its balance, which the Italians have shown they appreciate ”.
