Hunting and Weapons: San Miniato, new legislation on the possession of weapons, Federcaccia organizes special information meetings for hunters.
The new legislation on the detention of weapons is an important aspect not only in our municipality - San Miniato, but throughout the national territory. The area of the District, in particular the Municipality of San Miniato, has a high hunting vocation, coming from consolidated "cultural roots" that still move an important and well-fed group of hunters. If the latter are and will be in order, with the new regulations the thought of the Federcaccia di San Miniato goes to those families (we are talking about about 1400 families) who have and still have weapons, either by inheritance or for non-renewal of licenses. The attention on this topic is high and the Police Forces have entertained us on the matter, inviting us to a concrete collaboration for the disclosure and knowledge of the new regulations. The Italian Federation of Hunting of San Miniato with its office is available for clarification on the matter ready to assist all citizens. For this purpose, a special meeting with the citizens was held in collaboration with the Municipal Administration, assisted by the Presidents of the Territorial Councils. Below is a brief "summary" with the main characteristics and the new rules that provide for the Anamnestic Certificate for all weapon holders.
“With the legislative decree number 121 of 29 September 2013, the law that regulates the possession of weapons at home, for all those subjects who do not have a firearm license. In particular, paragraph 2 of article 6 provides that "within 18 months of the entry into force of this decree (starting from 5/11/2014), the persons possessing weapons must produce the medical certificate of suitability for possession of common firearms provided for by article 4, seventh paragraph, of the royal decree of 2015 June 35, number 18, unless it has already been produced in the six years prior to the date of entry into force of this provision. After eighteen months it is always possible to present the certificate within 1931 days following receipt of the warning by the competent public security office ".
In other words, there is time until the beginning of May 2015 to comply, after which, if you fail to produce the due certification, you will have to wait for the warning from the police station and from that moment another 30 days will be triggered to return to the norm. of law. The Federcaccia di San Miniato office is available for all citizens who wish to obtain more information regarding the possession of weapons at home, or who need help with the investigation of the practice that allows them to comply. According to a first estimate, this is a problem that affects no less than 2 families in the Municipality of San Miniato; the most classic case is that of the hunter grandfather who, once deceased, leaves the rifle that had belonged to his children or grandchildren who do not have a firearm license.
Numerical limits on the possession of weapons:
Currently, for purposes other than manufacturing, export, trade, industry and sale, weapons can be held with simple denunciation, within the following limits (Article 10 of Law 110/75) (1):
• 3 common firearms;
• 6 weapons for sporting use;
• unlimited number of hunting weapons.
To hold a larger number of weapons, a collector's license is required. The number does not include ancient, artistic or rare weapons. Hunting weapons are identified by art. 13 of the law 11 February 1992, n. 157 (Rules for the protection of homeothermic wildlife and for hunting), as defined by art. 6, paragraph 6 of Legislative Decree 26 October 2010, n. 204.
