22 pitches and 2 km of trail
On Sunday, October 12th, the competition took place in Santo Stino di Livenza (Venice) on courses surrounded by greenery. A splendid sunny day accompanied the archers throughout the competition. The sun created chiaroscuro effects among the leaves and plants of the forest, adding some difficulty to the already challenging technical competition set up for the occasion. Moreover, the Company Team Championship It also offers cash prizes for the winners, so it must be well earned! The competition involved 115 archers divided into 22 shooting positions along a course just over 2 kilometers long, which was not strenuous due to its flat and shaded terrain. This layout, while convenient, doesn't offer all the solutions and challenges that hilly or mountainous terrain can offer, such as shooting from low to high and vice versa.
Great scenographic level
The setup therefore required the best possible use of positioning techniques for the valid targets and the protected targets, while also visually reproducing natural predation scenes. These measures were greatly appreciated by all the archers present, despite the complexity of some shots. The two special shooting areas, which further simulate the search for prey, proved to be fun, though not impossible, with the targets hidden and camouflaged in the thick vegetation. Another level of difficulty involved the test at the mobile shooting area, which threw many archers off balance and led them to make mistakes.
The winning teams
Despite this small disappointment, the competition was described as fun, albeit challenging and technical, as evidenced by the final scores, which were below average for this type of competition. At the individual awards ceremony, all those who reached the podium were warmly applauded, as is only right among friends vying for the top spot in the competition, but always in the spirit of good, wholesome fun. The winning teams received their fair share of applause, both for traditional and technological bows, the ten teams that shared the prize money. The technological juniors certainly deserve a special mention, having performed very well compared to the adults. But now we'll leave you to consult the rankings and look at the podiums... The presence of the Owl and the Eagle on the podium is no coincidence, as anyone who participated in the competition knows! (Source: FIDASC).
