The Ministry of the Environment has warned the Sardinia Region to authorize the hunt today, 8 December. In a letter addressed to the Regional Councilor for the Environment, Gianni Lampis, the director general of the Ministry, Carlo Zaghi, writes: "It has been learned, in the press, that this Department has authorized hunting on December 8, 2020, despite the fact that it is a day of 'hunting silence' in accordance with the law of 11 February 1992, n. 157 ″.
According to the law, the Ministry writes, “on Tuesdays and Fridays the exercise of hunting is in any case suspended, as these are days of hunting silence ". Consequently, concludes the Ministry of the Environment, "The Region is warned against authorizing any activity that is in contrast with the clear national provisions on hunting, recalling as of now the precise responsibilities for damage to unavailable assets of the state".
The commissioner Lampis had authorized the hunt for the day today, who had made it known: "It is good to specify that the hunting activity will take place regularly, also with reference to the wild boar, although, for mere material error, the Regional hunting calendar did not report the day of December 8 "(The Unione Sarda).
