Caccia: Bergamo, Milesi replies to the offenses of the WWF whose exponents have defined the provincial councilors of cavemen; moreover Milesi is opposed to the agreement with the CRAS of Valpredina.
Following the offensive statements by the president of the WWF of Lombardy according to which "the provincial councilors are cavemen", in the context of the question concerning the request of the WWF to suspend the hunt, the provincial councilor, Vittorio Milesi of Udc is angry and replies asking an intervention by the Council against offensive sentences. Furthermore, Milesi suggests not renewing the agreement established with CRAS, the Wild Animal Recovery Center of Valpredina, managed by the WWF. With regard to the question, Milesi presented to the Provincial Council of Bergamo, Roberto Magri, a specific question whose text we publish below:
“The undersigned Provincial Councilor, pursuant to art. 34 of the Provincial Council Regulations,
- considering that in recent days the President of WWF Lombardia and the Association's lawyer, announcing an appeal to the TAR to request the suspension of hunting and the cancellation of the Wildlife Hunting Plan, has expressed a series of heavy, offensive and intimidating considerations regarding the Province of Bergamo and its Councilors;
- noted in particular that the President of WWF Lombardia declared and verbatim stated the following:
a) "from 2000 to today, the WWF has simply asked to apply laws and sentences, while justice is trampled on by four or five cavemen who have engaged four sessions of the Provincial Council to defend the interests of ten thousand hunters. I say cavemen in a technical sense, because they stayed with the idea of survival hunting from the Stone Age, but perhaps cavemen were more circumspect because they knew they didn't have to exaggerate and did not violate the laws of nature. The Council should instead use resources and time to deal with work, education, social problems ”;
b) "the politicians felt they did not have to comply with the rules, so we ask that the documents be sent to the Public Prosecutor's Office because the politicians, in the new framework of public administration controls, must justify the non-compliance with the legislation and are considered responsible for accounting damages and costly EU infringement procedures ";
c) “a Plan that respects the law is needed. This Plan cannot be drawn up by the Province, which has already shown that it is unable to do so ";
- considered that these statements, as well as disrespectful of the Provincial Institution, are disrespectful, intimidating and detrimental to the honor of the Provincial Councilors;
- taking into account that until proven otherwise, the current legislation allows hunting and that therefore compliance with the law should be asked of those who, in a pretext, unscrupulous way, intend in fact and by any means to obtain the abolition of hunting;
- noted in this sense that in the face of the continuous appeals presented by the WWF against all the Wildlife Hunting Plans of the Province of Bergamo to denounce countless violations of the law, the TAR has censored over time only marginal aspects, rejecting most of the reasons for illegitimacy raised;
- considering that it is animalist and environmentalist extremism that has forced the Provincial Council to deal repeatedly with the Wildlife Hunting Plan when certainly the attention should have, more usefully, been concentrated on the themes of "work, education and social problems";
- recalled that, despite the "four or five cavemen", the Province of Bergamo in recent years has signed an agreement with the WWF regarding "the rescue, temporary detention and subsequent release of wildlife" at the Wild Animal Recovery Center (CRAS) of Valpredina on the basis of which a flat-rate and all-inclusive compensation is paid to the WWF of Bergamo equal to 30.000 euros per year;
QUESTION
the President of the Province asking to know the following:
- what initiatives it intends to take in relation to the disrespectful, intimidating and offensive statements of the President of the Lombardy WWF and of the Association's lawyer to protect the image and honor of the Provincial Institution and of the Provincial Councilors;
- if it does not consider, taking into account the extremist positions expressed once again by the WWF of Bergamo, not to renew the agreement with the Wild Animal Recovery Center (CRAS) of Valpredina for "rescue, hospitalization, care and rehabilitation of fauna wild ", proceeding with the assignment of the service through a tender, moreover to be reviewed and resized in light of the economic difficulties that, starting from 2013, have not allowed the Province to provide contributions to families in difficulty as well as to the Associations and Voluntary Groups that they operate in our communities and which should have had an indisputable priority ”.
