The premature exultation of environmentalists for the alleged approval of the amendments against the detention of live decoys for hunting use can be said to have been suppressed.
The Agriculture Commission of the European Parliament in fact rejected the amendments against the detention of live decoys to be used in hunting, presented in recent days by the Honorable Andrea Zanoni.
The Agriculture Committee of the European Parliament, the majority of which is in favor of all activities carrying rural culture, rejected the amendments tabled by the Hon. Andrea Zanoni who endangered the use of live calls in hunting.
In recent days, the Hon. Zanoni had given with emphasis the news of the approval by the Environment Commission (where the members of the environmental world prevail) of the amendments that some deputies had presented and which, if approved by all the committees of the Parliament, would have called into question some forms of traditional hunting mainly practiced in Italy.
After the rejection by the agriculture commission, a definitive rejection is also expected by the parliamentary hall, crushing the premature euphoria of the Honorable Zanoni and his anti-hunt colleagues.
Brussels, 19 June 2012
Hon. Sergio Berlato
Member of the European Parliament
