With the Hunting Season almost upon us, the Municipality of Buccinasco, in the province of Milan, suspends the delivery of hunting cards for the next season and hunters have been invited to contact the Provincial Office.
Hunting season already very troubled even before starting for the Buccinasco hunters both from the bureaucratic and operational point of view; in these days the hunters, as usual every year, went to the Municipality of Buccinasco to collect the required hunting card to be able to exercise the hunting activity but were invited to contact the Province as the Municipal Administration has decided to stop performing the service.
The reasons for the municipal choice were provided by the councilor for Ecology, Environmental Protection and South Park, Samuele Venturini, who in fact explained, "For organizational reasons, the Administration for this year has decided to direct citizens who request the issue of hunting cards meanwhile we are working on an ad hoc regulation ".
Another “hidden” reason according to the commissioner would consist in the fact that hunting in the Municipality of Buccinasco would be prohibited almost everywhere; in fact, the municipal territory would be classified by the Province of Milan as a Restocking and Capture Area, aimed at the reproduction and subsequent introduction, by means of capture, of wild fauna in the natural state on the territory. Competent for this type of operations are exclusively the agents of the Provincial Police but lately there has been an increase in the phenomenon of the killing of otters with hunting rifles especially in the period of May.
Councilor Venturini added, “In the territory of Buccinasco we have many wetlands, with canals and fountains, very important naturalistic places to be preserved and enhanced and our citizens are very sensitive to environmental issues”.
Great contribution to the problems exposed by the councilor Venturini is given by the proximity to the Municipality of Milan where in fact hunting is allowed and some consequences affect the territory of the Municipality of Buccinasco especially in that green area where there is the Via della Musica ; in fact in this path in the green and in the countryside of Southern Milan, usually frequented by nature lovers and dog owners, cartridge cases have often been found and on one occasion a few years ago a passer-by was wounded by a gunshot fire.
