The draft of the new 2012-2013 Hunting Calendar for the Liguria Region is being approved but the first criticisms are already coming from the regional councilor Marco Scajola who considers it penalizing for Ligurian hunters.
On the new document Scajola has in fact criticized "The Region with this document penalizes Ligurian hunters and in particular those of the province of Imperia who, bordering on France, are confronted with that regulation that is much more loose on hunting. to migratory versus Ligurian ".
Councilor Scajola looks beyond and fears the negative effects that the new Calendar could produce for Liguria, especially at the economic level, "The risk is that many hunters do not register in the Italian sphere but in the French one with the consequence that the money they every year the Region recovers from the registration of hunters in the hunting season and which are used to support the damage caused by fauna to agriculture, this year could see a strong downsizing due to the decision of many to exercise their activities in the area French".
Continuing on the issue, Scajola affirms, "The opinion expressed by ISPRA, a body that never misses an opportunity to express prejudices against the hunting sector, has been taken into account, without taking into account the correct assessment of the position of hunters, a category often mistreated and treated with prejudice and which, on the other hand, has always shown that it cares about the protection of the environment and the territory. The position of the Region in this case will result in discriminatory treatments with license contractions and loss of economic funds that will end up in the coffers of a foreign state ”.
Finally, councilor Scajola concludes by hoping, “I hope that some positions will be reviewed. In full compliance with the rules and the environment, however, I believe that this attitude of the regional administration, differentiated between citizens of the European Community which penalizes Italian and Ligurian hunters in particular, is unfair given that hunters are deprived of being able to exercise their hunting in the Ligurian territory, penalizing a category that brings economy to our Region and our country ".
