The 2012-2013 Hunting Calendar of the Sardinia Hunting Region receives the negative opinion from ISPRA, satisfied the animal rights activists.
Following the requests of the animal welfare associations, the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research received an unfavorable opinion on the contents of the new Hunting Calendar of the Sardinia Region relating to the 2012-2013 Hunting Season.
According to ISPRA, the hunting conditions relating to the Moretta species for which hunting must be prohibited must be reformulated; the periods relating to the hunting collection for the Tortora and Quaglia species, foreseen by the Calendar with two months in advance, must also be modified, while for the Mallard, Teal, Coot and Snipe species the hunting skill period should be reduced by at least 11 days. Another ISPRA prescription on the new Sardinian Hunting Calendar concerns the use of non-toxic cartridges in wetlands.
Satisfaction therefore for the animal rights activists of the Amici della Terra associations, Enpa, the Legal Intervention Group, Lipu, the League for the Abolition of Hunting and WWF who praise a reformulation for the 2012-2013 Hunting Calendar, to be considered illegitimate, according to the contents of the ISPRA prescriptions.
