The recognized regional Hunting Associations (FEDERCACCIA, ANLC, ENALCACCIA, ARCICACCIA, ANUU, ITALCACCIA, EPS), members of the Regional Faunal-Hunting Council have transmitted, with a unitary and joint act, to the Calabria Region the technical proposal of the Hunting Calendar for the 2022-2023 season.
The document undertakes to propose a calendar that follows the scaffolding of last season, in accordance with art.18 of L 157/92 and providing technical support elements so that, for migratory species, the collection is confirmed on January 30th. without new limitations. With respect to the issue of the new Key Concepts, the AA.VV. provided elements and scientific evidence of the studies carried out by Federcaccia with its Studies and Research Office, also carried out by Federcaccia Calabria on the song thrush and published and become part of the scientific acts of professional ornithology.
The proposal of the Calabrian hunting associations for the 2022-23 calendar
The proposal provides specific guidelines to guarantee the collection of the turtle dove in pre-opening similarly to the other regions that have already adopted the calendars and therefore the Calabria Region will have to guarantee through the Agroservizi portal a specific function for monitoring the collection. This specific method of collecting sampling data for turtledove will have to be made operational and sent to ISPRA, as it is crucial for obtaining a favorable opinion, together with data on habitat improvements achieved through the RDP and ATC.
The document strongly calls for the necessary V.INC.A. to the Calendar experienced through a first level screening and above all that all those SAC areas that have suffered limitations in the last hunting season are recovered to the hunting activity.
Still illustrates and also proposes the methods for requesting the Ispra opinion which cannot be generic or ignore the most recent scientific evidence of a transnational nature applicable to our territory, provided and applied by the other Member States of the European Union that have identical environmental characteristics and certainly comparable.
The proposal, which is formulated according to sustainability criteria, takes into account the recent rulings of the TAR Calabria with particular reference to the last sentence of last March on the 2021/22 calendar, with respect to which for some points the validity of the choices has been established, as well as the correctness of the defensive theses of the Region and Federcaccia.
In summary, 5 pre-opening days were proposed with the collection of the turtle dove in two of these, the wood pigeon and the magpie, moreover an advance was requested for the quail over 2 days.
The opening date remains unchanged on the third Sunday of September (18 September) with closing on 30 January for anatidae, slows and foxes.
The collection dates, opening October 1st and closing January 30th for turdids, have remained unchanged. While for the Beccaccia the closure was proposed on January 30th, unlike the previous seasons which was on January 20th.
The dates of October 2nd - December 31st are kept for the collection of the lark species, September 18th - December 31st for pheasant, blackbird and wood pigeon, the latter from January 1st to 14th only for stalking.
For the wild boar species from 1 October to 31 December maintaining the game bag limits of 20 head per team per day.
The extension of the collection of some species (Hooded crow and jay) in the ten days of February has been maintained.
For the other species included in pre-opening, the closing date must be brought forward after the last rulings of the Council on the application of the maximum time frame, compared to the calendar of the Liguria Region of last year.
For the wild boar species, in the hope that the parliament will finally decide on the modification of 157 with the extension of two months of sampling, it has been proposed to start it from 1 October to 31 December.
All huntable species are preserved, and we have learned that the pochard management plan has reached the discussion of the Conference of Regions, with respect to which we urge the Region to adopt the observations of the Fidc Studies Office to make it fall within the species subject to hunting sampling.
Finally, we invited the region to ask Ispra for an opinion with reference to the specificities of the Calabrian territory, avoiding generic assessments that are not reliable for the reality of our region.
