Wild boar hunting, throughout theUmbria, on October 16. No more differentiation between the provinces of Perugia and Terni, as initially foreseen (with Perugia from 1 October to 31 December and Terni from 3 November to 29 January). This is what was decided in the hunting council, especially in light of the pressing requests made by farmers and ATCs to activate wild boar hunting as soon as possible, given that the increase in the number of ungulates and the cost of agricultural products it will increase the extent of damage to crops and therefore the consequent compensation.
A choice also argued by the need to limit the number of wild boars as soon as possible, also in light of the African swine fever emergency, with cases of virus positive ungulates also found in Rome. The Terni hunters had asked for a month's delay to align themselves with the Lazio Region. In the end the commissioner Morroni, after hearing the parties, believed that the date of October 16 was the right mediation. The selection hunt will start on June XNUMXst. With the possibility of changes, however, linked to possible national measures precisely to stem the health emergency. The other novelty concerns the hare hunting, extended by a few days, until 11 December (starting 18 September). All other dates remain unchanged from the initial draft of the Hunting Calendar:
