"Demagogy and propaganda do not help the hunting world gain legal certainty," commented Sergio Sorrentino, coordinator of the joint committee of all recognized hunting associations, representing almost all hunters in Campania. This response came from one organization, the Italian Venatorio Union, which is calling for the immediate approval of a secretly drafted major amendment to the regional hunting law. " We are not interested in the controversy over the major amendment, but in finding solutions that provide certainty to hunters," continued Sergio Sorrentino. "This is why the Regional Council should limit itself to addressing those parts of the law censored by the Council of Ministers, and should do so in compliance with national regulations. Furthermore, we need to find the right measures to allow for planned hunting mobility, a topic so dear to hunters in our region."
"Venturing into other issues, not the subject of the censures – continues Sergio Sorrentino – could cause further legal repercussions which, as has happened in other regions, could compromise the regular conduct of the hunting season and even possible suspensions by the administrative courts . In Campania this has already happened and, as usual, the ones who have paid the price are the hunters, who instead must be protected."
