La Italian Federation of Hunting, Enalcaccia and Arci Caccia issued a joint statement to express their position on the hunting card. The hunting associations consider it an irreplaceable tool for collecting information, but an opportunity to listen to citizens was lost when a amendment to article 12 of the Hunting Law. The amendment in question (introduction of the new article 12 bis) provides that culled sedentary and migratory wildlife must be noted on the card immediately after killing.
Moreover, many regions of our country have anticipated the EU Pilot and provided themselves with badges and calendars for registration required by national legislation. The criticism of the Italian State is strong, as it is considered unable to produce the reports requested by Brussels, certainly not the fault of the hunters or the way in which the slaughtered migratory was noted.
We must therefore change course, otherwise there could be an increase from a bureaucratic point of view. The hunting associations wish greater certainties and interpretative certainties, with certain and technically suitable application and registration times. In short, much more and much better could be done for the hunting card.
