The CNC, pending the ruling of the TAR on the contribution to the Umbrian Hunting Territorial Areas, releases sixty breeding pheasants as a signal of change.
"If the appeal to the TAR - whose decision should be made public in days - promoted by us to return to pay 25 € uro as in the other two Territorial Areas of Perugia, were to be accepted, not only would justice be restored to all the men of Woods of Umbria, but it would be another important step towards a renewal of the hunting activity in the province of Terni ”.
Meanwhile, the National Hunting Committee of Rurality and Traditions wanted to give a sign of change with the release of sixty breeding pheasants, which took place in recent days, not only in Montecastrilli, but also in Avigliano Umbro, Acquasparta, Guardea, Allerona and Orvieto.
"A signal - points out the manager for the Orvieto area, Evandro Caiello - that the CNC launched right from its debut, since our association, after having organized the ISPRA conference in Casteltodino, proposed itself for the realization of a “Restocking Area and Pilot Capture” at no cost. The provincial administration, perhaps negatively influenced by the sector organizations opposed to these voluntary innovations, never wanted to accept our invitation. But the CNC is still confident in this regard.
The innovative repopulation methodology was taken care of in all its phases: in the first place the event was widely publicized, not only to our members, but to all the hunters of the area interested in repopulation. The 60 class A pheasants (at least 1 year of life), have certification in this sense drawn up by the supplier company which not only boasts its own location within the Po Delta, in the province of Ferrara, but which has exclusively of aviaries in the open air and feeding for the animals present with 'biological method' ".
Preventive ringing aimed at reconnaissance and biological mapping, due certification and health checks by the ASL staff of Ferrara (at departure), and by that of Terni upon arrival, as well as the mapping of repopulations recorded by the Provincial Police, they were the setting for the release of the five specimens (1 male + 4 females) in each of the selected locations.
"Even in the absence of the indispensable tools to be able to carry out a correct and judicious management of the territory and the fauna existing in it - concludes Caiello - with this very small gesture, the CNC wanted to give the Terni hunters who still believe in hunting with the aid of your dog, a strong and hopeful signal. Change is possible. Indeed it must ”.
