Hunting and Controls in Pistoia. The recent agreement with the Region has again assigned the supervisory functions on hunting and fishing for the provincial police of Tuscany; also in the territory of our province the controls on these matters, traditional prerogative of the provincial police, will be reinserted in the planning of the Corps' activities.
But the competences attributed by the region to the Provincial Police are not limited to the supervision of hunting and fishing: the text of the convention in fact provides that the staff is also responsible for the operational coordination of voluntary supervision - again with regard to hunting and fishing - of coordination of the control plans of the wildlife, carried out pursuant to art. 37 of Regional Law No. 3/94 (Transposition of Law 11 February 1992, No. 157 "Rules for the protection of homeothermic wildlife and hunting"), participation in examination sessions for the hunting license and the qualification of voluntary hunting watch, as well as the performance of traffic police services on regional roads.
The recent profound changes affecting local authorities, which have redesigned the competences of the provincial administrations - Vasta Area Entities, have radically changed the activity of the Provincial Police, linked to the new competences and oriented primarily to the control of road traffic safety, in particular on the provincial roads.
The Province has increased the level of safety on provincial roads, also through the activity of the Provincial Police which, in addition to the recent attributions of the Tuscany region, concerns the ascertainment of infringements due to the omitted compulsory insurance coverage, the revision of vehicles and the exceeding the speed limits, illegal whose repression is to the advantage of collective security.
Another objective concerns the control of driveways and advertising on provincial roads, also linked to traffic safety, even if in a less perceptible way. In the control activity, the most frequented roads and with the greatest accidents are privileged, but the controls are extended to the entire provincial and regional road network.
