The environmental associations denounce the illegality and dangerousness of the hunting towers by moving the controls of the Local Police; GPS satellite system for the identification of illegal turrets.
The brigade in fact undertook the investigation aimed at finding the roof terraces built on the hills of Monte Pian following the complaint of the environmentalists according to which these buildings would be contrary to all environmental and urban planning regulations as well as to the most obvious safety standards.
It all began after the Legal Intervention Group represented, both to the Municipality and to the Judiciary, a probable situation of unauthorized building aimed at hunting with an explicit request for environmental information accompanied by photographic documentation.
The investigations carried out by the Municipality show the complete absence of requests for authorization to build hunting structures, whether they are temporary or permanent, therefore the Municipal Offices have never issued authorizations to this effect. Naturally, the outcome of the municipal investigations does not count as illegal hunting terraces as these, considering the purpose for which they are built, could be part of the hunting authorizations.
Given the controversial situation, the Local Police will therefore carry out targeted inspections aimed at a precise census of the hunting terraces, verifying their building nature by identifying both the owners of the funds where they insist and any hunters involved. Once the investigations have been completed, the Superintendency of Verona will be called to judge any cases of illegality.
In the meantime, the environmental associations, under the guidance of the president of the Veneto protectionist coordination, Renzo Rizzi, and in agreement with the State Forestry Corps, will carry out an activity through a GPS satellite system to identify the owners of the funds concerned.
Rizzi considers the illegal turrets real "bunkers" often built on trees thirty meters high. Among Rizzi's statements on the subject there is an implicit request for support from the "plain" hunters referring to the "mountain hunters" who built the turrets: "They shoot everything that passes in the upper Agno Valley . And what is left to the lowland hunters? ”.
