Hunting and Fishing in Abruzzo. Following the complex transformation process that has affected the Region through a general review of its organizational structure, resulting from the reorganization of the functions of the Provinces introduced by Regional Law No. 32 of 2015, the regional councilor for Hunting and Fishing, Dino Pepe, has sent a note to industry associations highlighting that the ongoing process also includes hunting and fishing in inland waters and compensation for damage caused to agricultural production and wildlife husbandry.
"Thus, - writes Pepe - a new phase has begun for these functions which, with the new structure, are structurally characterized by a single direction of a regional nature that immediately sets itself as the primary objective, immediately, that of overcoming the confusion generated in the previous phase of transition with inevitable loss on the part of citizens ".
Therefore, the functions related to compensation for damage caused by wildlife have been assigned to the three Territorial Services for Agriculture (Eastern Abruzzo, Western Abruzzo, and Southern Abruzzo), which will perform them based on their respective territorial jurisdiction. Regarding hunting and fishing functions, however, it has been established that these will be assigned to the Technical Services, which will oversee them through the coordination of three officials responsible for three offices.
As regards Teramo, considering the inaccessibility of the provincial headquarters following the recent earthquake events, we inform you that the reference offices are being transferred to those of the Abruzzo Region, located in Teramo in via Ponte San Giovanni.
