Dear Governor, Please release the Councilor for the Environment Donatella Spano from office, for evident inability to fill the role of President of the Regional Wildlife Committee and for the obvious omissions that resulted in the absence of wildlife monitoring. These are the words used by Marco Efisio Pisanu, President of Hunting Fishing Environment Sardinia, to ask the governor Francesco Pigliaru for the resignation of the councilor for the Defense of the Environment.
Pisanu himself spoke of the disregarded and trampled demands of regional policy: according to the president, it is not just a matter of 40 thousand hunters, but also of those who carry out commercial activities or who gravitate around the levy. In recent weeks the Regional Administrative Court islander decided to stop hunting hares and partridges, an ordinance that was even religiously respected by Sardinian hunters.
The commissioner Spano was accused of never having challenged the same order, consequently disregarding the hunting calendar. Furthermore, after the convening of the Fauna Committee, it did not allow voting to review that part of the calendar in which hunting was limited to the times to protect hares and partridges. CPA Sardegna finally asked to start one internal investigation to understand whose responsibilities are and whether the law has been respected.
