Marco Efisio Pisanu, president of the association Hunting, Fishing and Environment, sent a letter to the governor of the Sardinia Region, Francesco Pigliaru, and to all the regional councilors. The message is very clear, the island is snubbing Sardinian hunters, as well as the whole economy that revolves around them. The decision to write to the local authority was taken after the order of the TAR against the hunting days planned for hares and Sardinian partridges it has not been challenged before the Council of State.
The two days of sampling of the species had been decided by the Regional Fauna Committee, a body which also includes the representatives of the Region. There rejection by the administrative judges it was accepted without any attempt to react, an attitude that Pisanu did not like at all. The association had already pointed out the lack of sensitivity towards the hunting world, in addition to the absence of defense of a provision of competence such as the hunting calendar.
The inaction of the last few days has therefore been seen as a very precise political choice: according to Caccia, Pesca and Ambiente, the Region will therefore have to answer for it in the elections, even if silence is creating discomfort and amazement. The effects of such inertia are of three kinds. The first is legal, as the admission of the accusations of those who have appealed is certified. Secondly, the effect is political: for Pisanu the Region is showing contempt towards the numerous citizens who are committed, among other things, to the contrast to African swine fever. The third effect is economic, given that the region's indifference is causing huge losses to traders and professionals in the sector.
