Hut hunting: Bergamo, ANUU, “tradition penalized by the new limits contained in the new Wildlife Hunting Plan”.
The new PFV (Wildlife Hunting Plan) which should come into force will implement the great penalization of our deep-rooted hunting traditions. One of these is hut hunting, which risks seeing the immediate suppression of over 60 fixed positions and an agony for another 30/40 located on the Bergamo hills and within 1000 meters of the "Valpredina" SCI, as the latter , with the non-renewal by the owner, whether for health, old age or other reasons, they can no longer be maintained, so they cannot even be registered in the name of children, relatives or others. Furthermore, the new rules that will require the renewal and change of ownership of the fixed posts located within the Natura 2000 Network Sites and within a radius of 1000 meters from the border of the same to be subjected to EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment), will create not a few problems and costs of obtaining the authorizations. The same will apply to the request for new authorizations.
Another tile will be the transformation of the "Migration Routes" into "Oasis of Protection", and also for those newly established and / or expanded, which may lead to the revocation of the authorizations of those fixed positions that fall within these areas, but also the ban on setting up new ones at a distance of less than 400 meters from their borders. Last but not least, the prohibition, within a radius of 100 meters from the fixed posts present throughout the provincial territory, to implement any form of artificial feeding and to plant and / or maintain alien plant species, such as: phytolacca (Phytolacca spp.), piracanta (Pyracantha spp.), piracanta coccygea, late cherry (Prunus serotina), etc. etc. Mind you: only within the aforementioned 100 meters, beyond anyone can continue to plant the aforementioned alien plant species producing berries! The important thing is that they are out of reach of stalking: a very clear desire not to limit the spread of "unwelcome" species (actually already widespread throughout Lombardy), but to target hunting from the hut.
Probably the reason has been lost! We want to ban everything and more to demotivate this form of hunting, without knowing (but I am more than convinced that things are known but prejudices prevail) what lies behind the history of a hunting lodge. The fixed stake is not a number like someone said or wrote. Behind there are countless stories of people who, for generations, have handed down ownership with many sacrifices made by: - physicists; in the commitment to keep in order that own patch of land that the hunter chooses and that he treats all year round as a kind of garden, which becomes a stop for hikers, as they find that area clean and attractive for a pic -nic and / or a moment of relaxation; - deprivations; there are stories of some of these people who, to devote themselves to the care of their shed, never went on vacation (they only saw the sea on postcards or on TV) with family sacrifices; - economic-financial; most of the holders of permanent posting authorization are also owners of the area, having bought it with economic sacrifices, making mortgages, investing their own liquidation and all or part of their savings, then thinking of enjoying the benefits, while spending a few hours in nature, listening to the songs of their birds of call and their passion.
This PFVP, to those people who are involved in spite of themselves, will most likely ruin their existence! And this would be to keep faith with the always ostentatious political slogan: closeness to people, to the territory, to traditions, etc. Why not reward the hunting lodges in the province of Bergamo, real monuments, green cathedrals of centuries-old passion? Why not give prestige to the many sacrifices to improve the environment with these artifacts that testify our history and highlight the site regenerated by the hand of man? All these indications were disregarded in the drafting of the PFVP and the result is that, with the revocation of the authorization, there will be abandonment and those arboreal monuments, created for generations, will become forests full of brambles and neglect. If this is what you want, that is the cancellation of our traditions and the abandonment of the territory, it could be said immediately.
However, we will do everything we can to not lose this heritage and to protect it in every location, provincial, regional, national and international. We hope that common sense prevails on the part of the Administration at all levels, politicians and offices. It would be enough to go back to the PFVP presented in SEA (Strategic Environmental Assessment) in June 2012 which complies with the sentence of the Brescia Regional Administrative Court and which would allow to keep all the huts and not to lose too many hectares of territory (counted more in the current one, only as a guarantee, if some are not considered. to have the evil at the expense of hunters) and there would be no protection oases on the Migration Routes that will create all those problems mentioned above.
