As reported by the Confederation of Tuscan Hunters, it is at these hours the news that the Third Section of Council of State has expressed itself in court on the appeal for the request for suspension of Hunting Calendar of the Tuscany Region presented by animal welfare and environmental associations. After the rejection of the application by the TAR Toscano, the Council of State partially accepted the precautionary request suspending the contested provision (the calendar relating to the 2018-2019 season specifically) on only 2 specific aspects: first of all, the request for suspension regarding the deadline for hunting the Woodcock which is carried over to 10 January as required by ISPRA opinion no. 38725 of 13 June.
Furthermore, the request to subtract, for the species expected in pre-opening, of the entire period between the start of the early opening and the start of the hunting season required by law (1-16 September). This would lead, from a first reading, to a possible one early closure of hunting for these species, for the sum of the days included in that period.
Here is how the CCT commented on the device: "In reserving further evaluations on the merits of the order in question and noting how many of the arguments presented by the applicants have not been accepted by the Council of State, however serious problems on the Tuscan Hunting Calendar with respect to which the CCT asks the Tuscany Region to intervene promptly with adequate measures in order to guarantee legal certainty for the current hunting season. A urgent act what is necessary while waiting to be able to deal with the discussion on the merits ".
