The long-awaited meeting of hunters with the management committee of the Territorial Hunting Area of Benevento took place in the hall of the Fiera di Morcone, on the morning of Sunday 19th July. The conferences that the members of the ATC of Benevento are holding with hunters in the various Samnite municipalities, aimed at disseminating the activities carried out by the management body and conceived on meeting-confrontation or with the active participation of hunters who become actors interpreters of their own reality, they are finding important interest not only from the hunting population but also from the municipal political authorities. At the meeting in the convention hall of the Fair, the honors were given by the Councilor for the Environment of the Municipality of Morcone, Cirelli Marzio, who brought greetings from the Mayor and the entire administration, sensitive and close to the agricultural world, hunting and environmental, while the session of the conference was brilliantly coordinated by Giampaolo Perugini of Morcone, university professor of the faculty of Campobasso. The Mayor of Sassinoro, Pasquale Cusani, the Mayor of Campolattaro Pasquale Narciso and the Mayor of Pontelandolfo Fiorentino Boniello attended the conference, who expressed their availability to the needs of hunting art, an activity that is an expression of human culture and in particular of the world. rural, therefore in tune with the Samnite hinterland territories.
The President Gianluca ACETO and the members of the ATC management committee illustrated the actions that the Benevento Territorial Hunting Area has implemented in a short time, in particular the repopulation phase and the communicative action of the Area, as well as all useful projects that will be agreed upon within the ATC management committee. "From a seeming breeze of critical skepticism towards the action of the new committee", President Aceto pointed out, "a suspicious criticism perhaps dictated by misunderstandings and misinformation", Aceto remarked, "brilliant elements and comfortable results emerge in a very short time, especially evident from the emphasis brought by the hunters in all the encounters held up to now ”.
“The hunting world is a resource and must be considered as such”, underlined the President Aceto. "In fact, it is enough to analyze the first results obtained with the new management through only effective communication: by now all the Samnite hunters know that compared to the past years the cost for the purchase of a hare has halved by fifty percent" highlighted Aceto .
The conference then entered the strictly more participatory phase, that of the main actors of the hunting stage, not only hunters, but also farmers. Particular attention was in fact highlighted by some farmers in relation to the damage caused to agricultural crops by wild boars, especially in the areas adjacent to the Oasis of Campolattaro. In this regard, the need for effective collaboration between the Mayors and the bodies in charge was accentuated, in synergy also with the Territorial Hunting Area which in fact is only delegated to the management of the hunting territory but certainly participates in the protection of the territory and of the agricultural heritage. The Mayors present in fact all agreed to undertake an action in synergy with the Province and in sharing with the ATC in order to protect all the agricultural world.
The topic subsequently dealt with was centered on other very important issues, the fight against poaching and the fight against predators. "Poaching", President Aceto pointed out, "is a phenomenon that can be eradicated and remedied, through the collaboration of all, in synergy with the ATC and the bodies responsible for control, there is no more silence on the matter". As for predators, once the census has already been scheduled, it will be possible to draw up a feasible downsizing plan.
The issue of disposable crops was also addressed, useful for game and sedentary fauna to return to their native presence. In this regard, in fact, the need for the establishment of several repopulation and capture areas, essential reservoirs aimed at the natural repopulation of the territory of the fauna in an indigenous form, was highlighted and shared by all.
The audience also urged the need for the establishment of dog areas, which are indispensable not only for the training and training of all the auxiliary dog breeds of hunters and main players in the showcase of hunting events, but useful because additional reservoirs to protect the fauna, as hunting is prohibited in them. Finally, President Aceto highlighted the importance of drafting the Provincial Wildlife Plan, an objective to be achieved by the end of the year, as well as the comparison action that the ATC of Benevento will carry out with the other ATCs of the Campania Region.
The next programmatic meeting will take place on Tuesday 23 July in Pietrelcina, at 18:00 at the central Multifunctional Hall located in Piazza SS. Annunziata. During this week, it is highlighted that the entries of pheasants and hares will be made. On the 23rd, Tuesday the pheasants will be placed in the fortorina area and on the 26th in the Alto Tammaro area. On 28 and 29 July the hares will be simultaneously captured from the pre-environmental enclosure and placed on the Samnite territory. The areas affected by the release will be communicated this week.
