New season
The Regional Hunting Calendar for the Calabria Region has been published on the website 2025-2026 season and the Incidence Assessment for the same season. But what are the main details. It is worth examining them in brief.
Hunting season opening and permitted species:
These are the huntable species:
September 1st: Wood Pigeon, Magpie, Grey Crow, exclusively from a hide;
6-7 September: Wood Pigeon, Magpie, Grey Crow (exclusively from a hide);
11-13-14 September: Wood Pigeon, Magpie, Grey Crow (exclusively from a hide);
14 Quail
The closure will take place on January 31, 2026.
Hunting methods for pochard
Hunting for this species is subject to a special regime as set out in the National Management Plan. The decision is that the number of animals that can be killed must be 75% of the average catches of previous years. There is therefore a ceiling
maximum number of heads not to be exceeded equal to 100. The hunter interested in hunting the species must register through the App "XCaccia" made available by the AA.TT.C. Calabresi, activating the relative procedure set out in it by
Calabria Region, as soon as they have the 2025/2026 hunting license. Hunters authorized to hunt the species “MORIGLIONE AYTHYA FERINA” must record the collections made in real time on the days authorized by this Hunting Calendar on the specific App “XCaccia”. The collections must however be recorded normally on the hunting license.

Hunting may be carried out exclusively on bird and game species.

January 2026 hunting is permitted exclusively from a hide;
Grey Crow, from 21 September to 11 January 2026 in wandering form and/or in hiding;
Jay, from 21 September 2025 to 31 January 2026 in wandering form and/or in ambush, from
January 18 to January 31, 2026 exclusively from ambush;
Gazza: from 15 September 2025 to 16 January 2026;
Coot, Teal, Northern Shoveler, Gadwall, Wigeon, Mallard, Pintail, Garganey,
Snipe, Whip, Moorhen, Water Rail: from September 21, 2025 to January 31
2026;
Moretta from 1 November 2025 to 31 January 2026;
Moriglione from 21 September 2025 to 31 January 2026 according to the provisions set out in the
paragraph “Hunting for the pochard”;
Fighter: from September 21 to October 5, 2025;
Wood pigeon: from 21 September to 11 January 2026 in wandering form and/or in hiding;
Woodcock: from 11 October 2025 to 31 January 2026;
Common hare: from 21 September to 14 December 2025 (with the help of a hound dog);
Wild boar: from 2 October 2025 to 31 January 2026 (with the help of a tracking dog);
Fox: from 21 September 2025 to 31 January 2026 (with the help of a hound);
