Common sense
“Two important results for the hunting and wildlife sector of Campania. The Regional Council of Campania has approved the Regional Hunting and Wildlife Plan, while the Regional Council has given the green light to the changes to the Hunting Calendar 2024/25 (pre-opening, 7, 8 and 11 September). We continue along the lines of common sense and the technical-scientific indications received from Ispra, the National Hunting and Wildlife Technical Committee and the sector associations”.
Favorable opinions
Nicola Caputo, Councilor for Agriculture of the Campania Region, announced this on the sidelines of today's meeting of the Campania Regional Council. "Following the favorable opinions of Ispra and the National Hunting Fauna Committee - explains Nicola Caputo - the regional council has adjusted the 2024/25 hunting calendar, allowing the early opening of hunting on the following days: 7, 8 and 11 September 2024 for the species, grey crow, magpie, jay and wood pigeon in the form of hide hunting only. The general hunting season is scheduled for 15 September, in particular the approved changes refer to the wood pigeon species which can be hunted until 16 January 2025 and ordinary hunting season will also be allowed from 21 September for the species water rail, pheasant and quail".
Game plan for hunting
“Today, the Regional Council of Campania also gave a favorable vote to the Regional Wildlife and Hunting Plan, which represents a fundamental instrument for the governance and planning of wildlife and hunting in the regional agro-forestry-pastoral territory through which the Region defines its own guidelines regarding the purposes and objectives of managing homeothermic wildlife and the regulation of hunting activity in the medium term. This result was achieved thanks to the contribution of all those who participated in drafting the plan and its amendments, through consultations that provided food for thought and discussion”.
Sustainable and acceptable withdrawal
“With the approval of the new Wildlife Plan by the Campania Regional Council and the launch of the new Hunting Calendar by the Council, – concludes the Councilor for Agriculture Nicola Caputo – we aim for correct regional planning in terms of vocation and destination of the territory, ensuring sustainable and acceptable harvesting, as also indicated by President De Luca. We are laying the foundations for a modern management of our wildlife heritage” (source: Campania Region).
