I Venetian hunters have been quite active these past few weeks, with meetings and reunions to take stock of the current situation of regional hunting. In Vicenza, then, the regional councilor Sergio Berlato illustrated an initiative that will begin to take shape today, Tuesday 27 June 2017. This is the motion presented by Berlato himself for avoid being bound by the mandatory opinion of ISPRA, the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research.
The text was presented in May and today there will be a vote, in order to engage the Veneto Region with regard to any pressure on the national government for the hunting notwithstanding. In the event of a favorable vote, the State-Regions Conference will be urged to quickly divide the number of animals that can be taken for each species among the Italian regions that are interested precisely in the derogations.
The distribution was to be completed by 10 June last, as required by the legislation currently in force. The Veneto Region, moreover, will be committed with this motion to apply hunting in derogation for the hunting season 2017-2018.
