Three days a week
By decree of the president of Lazio region, Francesco Rocca, and on the proposal of the Councilor for Hunting and Fishing, Giancarlo Righini, the regional hunting calendar and the regulations for the 2025-2026 season in Lazio were approved. The season will begin on September 21, 2025 and end on January 31, 2026. For the entire period, hunting is permitted three days a week, which the license holder can choose from Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
Well in advance
"Well ahead of schedule - says Councilor Righini - we approve the hunting calendar that was drawn up after a concerted effort with the regional hunting wildlife committee and after having obtained the favorable opinion of Ispra. We are, therefore, fully satisfied with the result achieved, which I am sure will also satisfy the trade associations". The exercise of the wild boar species is set from October 1st to January 31st, and will be governed by a subsequent regulation. Selective hunting, always of the wild boar species, is carried out according to the harvest plans approved by the Lazio Region.
The next measures
With a subsequent provision, hunting will be regulated for the Lazio side of the Abruzzo Lazio Molise National Park with specific measures to protect the Marsican brown bear to be applied in the critical area: Monti del Cicolano, Monti Ernici, area adjacent to the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park and in the Special Conservation Zones with the presence of the brown bear. With a further provision, hunting will be regulated on the island of Ponza. To hunt, the hunter must be equipped with a hunting license, valid throughout the national territory. While, for the selective culling a specific license is required.
