Hunting - Lombardy: the deputy leader of the Northern League, Fabio Rolfi, spoke about the exceptions on hunting requests discussed in today's meeting of the Lombardy regional council.
“With these requests - says Fabio Rolfi - the Lombardy Region once again reaffirms its will to safeguard Brescia's hunting traditions. The first request for derogation concerns the capture of live calls and the opening of the roccoli, the second asks to be able to allow hunters hunting on brambles, finches and starlings, while the third, relating to starling hunting, concerns the protection of crops from damage caused by the excess of this species.
It is right to remember that this is a right that European legislation allows and that we therefore ask to be able to exercise in the face of the many actions carried out in recent years on the census of live calls and to combat the phenomenon of poaching.
We believe - concludes Fabio Rolfi - that it is appropriate to reiterate once again the importance of the traditional and sporting role of hunting, in particular for territories such as that of the Province of Brescia, where the figure of the cacciatore exercises important functions relating to the conservation and protection of the environment.
