Milan, 26 November – Today the Lombardy Regional Council approved by majority the "Second law of regulatory revision", which contains, among other things, some new features regarding the Lombard hunting regulations, the result of the amendments presented by the councilor and Vice President of the Agriculture Commission Charles Bravo (Brothers of Italy).
The changes introduced concern:
– the possibility (from the next hunting season) of carrying out hunting activities
dog training even during the hunting season;
– the right to be admitted to the ATC/CAC in which a relative in a direct line is already a member, such as one's father, son, grandfather or great-grandfather, thus encouraging the passing down of the passion for hunting from generation to generation;
– the possibility for non-resident hunters, in the event that they do not pay the fee within the established terms, to be readmitted to the ATC/CAC upon payment of the increased fee by 30 April or even later, for proven serious illness.
Further positive amendments on the topic were also approved, presented by other regional councillors, such as:
– the possibility for those who hunt from a fixed hide to be able to hunt wild boar, after receiving specific training, until the health emergency linked to PSA continues (Pietro Macconi, Fd'I);
– the introduction of fallow deer hunting (P. Macconi);
– the inclusion of fox hunting in the ZRA to improve wildlife balance (Floriano Massardi, Lega).
“Thanks to the dialogue with the hunting associations that participated in the Interprovincial Roundtable on Hunting, we have presented these proposals for changes to the regional law, necessary to respond to some specific needs of hunters from Brescia and Lombardy” – comments a satisfied councilor Bravo.
“I am fully aware that to ensure a better future for the hunting world
much more is needed: supporting traditional hunts with the use of live decoys, reopening the bird snares to maintain a thousand-year-old tradition and guaranteeing certain hunting periods are three major objectives that I am working on every day, to respond to the mandate of my constituents" – concludes Councilor Bravo.
